I will be giving bromoil workshops in 2009. Please contact me for the dates.

Workshops are limited to 6 students so that everyone gets all the personal instruction they need. The class will include how to make oil prints as well as bromoil and bromoil transfer.

A typical workshop lasts for 2 days and usually is held over a weekend.

Individual tutorials can be arranged for learning oil printing or bromoil transfer.

The cost for the basic bromoil two day workshop will be $300 which includes all materials that you would need to learn bromoil. You do not need to bring anything, I supply all materials, brushes, inks, paper as well as plenty of practice matrices. If you have access to a B&W darkroom I will supply instructions on how to make your own prints that can be transformed into bromoils.

I have found that for most beginning students do better if they use my practice matrices instead of trying to learn on matrices that they have made. I recommend that people considering taking a workshop that they not stress over the fact that they "need" to make their own prints. One needs to learn the process before you can make you own prints.

Hope you can make it.

Introductory workshops are open to all interested. While prior darkroom experience is helpful it is not necessary. Oil printing does not require a traditional darkroom at all since the enlarged negative can be made from a computer generated digitally enlarged negative.
